When I ask my daughter who had the biggest impact on her ability to cope with her late diagnosis of autism, she credits Nikki. Nikki was responsible for providing O with the tools to manage her autism, she made O aware of what autism was and how it may manifest and gave her the physical and sensory tools necessary to calm herself down when she became overwhelmed. I have no doubt that O would not be thriving at university if it were not for Nikki’s support.
Nikki is an exceptional OT with a holistic approach to each session. Over the course of over a year, we have seen significant improvement in [our child’s] fine motor skills, gross motor skills and attention. Her warm and empathetic nature helped V to connect immediately with her and he eagerly waits for her session designed around play, using space, textures, and toys that make it super fun. We will wholeheartedly recommend her.
Nikki is the unicorn of OTs. She has the ability to form fantastic working relationships with kids and their parents whilst completing impeccable OT assessments and treatment. My son was always delighted to see her and engaged brilliantly in every OT activity. What he didn’t realise was the simultaneous OT assessment Nikki was completing; an expert grading of activities that were specifically chosen to motivate him, and target skills that he needed a boost with. Nikki has completed formal assessments for my child, carried out school visits, provided me with adult OT coaching sessions - all to an impeccable standard. She has guided our family through tricky school situations; a diagnosis process; and worked on OT goals with my child as appropriate. Nikki is also flawless in her ability to offer timely OT advice, support, or a listening ear as necessary. She also always knows when to refer externally to different professionals, and to liaise with them as necessary. I have complete faith in Nikki’s clinical OT skills and my child has benefited enormously from her expertise. We feel lucky to have found such an excellent OT.
Our son has worked with Nikki for over a year and a half. She is patient, creative, positive, and upbeat. The skills he has developed with her are amazing, and he looks forward to his sessions with her every week. We are so thankful that we are able to have her with him. Our other children are jealous that they don't get to work with Ms. Nikki too!
Ms. Nikki had a key role in J’s life during his adaptation in Singapore. She was the first professional supporting him during this journey. After 3 years, her focus has changed according to his demands. She has been supporting him in several fronts: from sensorial needs and social skills to adaptation to a new school. She has been a great support for all of us as a family. She is caring and responsible, and we are having a great experience with her. I would certainly recommend Ms Nikki.
Nikki has worked with our son for the last 2.5 years and has been able to make tremendous progress with him. She is an excellent and amazing OT, but goes way beyond that as she is also able to work on social and emotional topics. Her visits are always a surprise as she comes with big bags (and even suitcases) of toys and games to make the sessions fun and different every time. She is able to connect and push our son beyond what he thought he was capable of. She is constructive and positive. Nikki communicates well, provides feedback after sessions and interacts with us as parents in a constructive way. She is also very open to communicating with teachers or the school. I have already recommended her multiple times to others. She will assess whether she is the right person for your child and their needs. Nikki is the best!
Nikki has provided excellent solutions spanning general advice, assessments, direct coordination via the school, letters of referral and of course OT sessions. Most importantly, my son genuinely enjoys the sessions with Nikki and has used the techniques to help balance his natural impulsive behaviours. Thanks Nikki!
Nikki has been an absolute life line for our family. From the moment we connected, she listened to my child and our family’s needs with compassion and non-judgement and with a wholehearted willingness to become part of the support team for my child. She has always had my child’s needs at the centre of what she does - and brings compassion and understanding to working WITH my child. She values my child’s strengths and has built a strong and supportive relationship with her. She is highly perceptive in understanding our child’s needs and works. to create a fun, nurturing and supportive environment to support growth in these areas. Games, fun and other activities support skills growth and trust building and also build a child’s sense of agency. She has been instrumental in supporting us with finding other practitioners and with engaging with other partners like our child’s school. We started off feeling lost and overwhelmed, defensive and judged and with Nikki’s support we feel our child and family are now learning and growing together and we are confident in our advocacy for her and in knowing how to support her better. Nikki has been our daughter’s therapist for the last four years. Not only is she the most skilled therapist, she makes the sessions with our daughter fun-filled yet practical, based on a functional approach. Nikki’s ability to think outside the box has led my daughter to a path of self sufficiency and independence. I cannot thank Nikki enough for her loving support for our daughter.
