Nikki Smit
I am a mobile occupational therapist based in Singapore, offering comprehensive therapy and coaching to children, adolescents and adults. I practise in schools, a variety of community settings, and in the comfort of my clients’ homes. Forming strong, long-term relationships with clients and their families is central to what I do. I also offer workshops to neurodivergent individuals, parents and teachers.
I am neurodiversity-affirming. I believe that all behaviour is communication, and value human connection over compliance with societal norms. By focusing on the strengths we already have, I help my clients to understand themselves better and support them in learning to self-advocate.
What a pleasure watching Nikki Smit work with children! I’ve personally seen her interaction with little people, pre-teen and teens and have been so impressed by her ability to connect with them and motivate them. Can’t recommend her enough.
Our son has worked with Nikki for over a year and a half. She is patient, creative, positive, and upbeat. The skills he has developed with her are amazing, and he looks forward to his sessions with her every week. We are so thankful that we are able to have her with him. Our other children are jealous that they don't get to work with Ms. Nikki too!
Nikki has provided excellent solutions spanning general advice, assessments, direct coordination via the school, letters of referral and of course OT sessions. Most importantly, my son genuinely enjoys the sessions with Nikki and has used the techniques to help balance his natural impulsive behaviours. Thanks Nikki!
